held at 8:30 a.m. Room 104, at
which time any open-floor
nominations must be made known
and accepted to be placed on the
ballot at that meeting. No other
candidates will be placed on the
ballot after this meeting
adjourns.
May 9th -
Election in the office between
the hours of 8:10 a.m. and 2:45
p.m.
Any write-ins on
the day of the election will
invalidate that ballot.

AZTEC REINFORCEMENT PROGRAMS
Parents-
The PTO would like to keep you informed about a couple of reinforcement programs at Aztec.
Headsprout
The PTO has funded a reading program called Headsprout for 1st and 2nd grade students. Headsprout has successfully increased the reading abilities and levels of all students in the program. Many children who were reading well below their grade level or not reading at all are now reading at or above grade level after engaging in the program for just a few months. Your continued support for Aztec's PTO helps children succeed.
This is new to Aztec this year. Any of your parents who volunteer and see a student doing something good, can award them with a "Caught Doing Good" slip. The students put their slip in the "Caught Doing Good" box in the office (students do this during their own time so they don't interrupt learning). Every Monday, 5 names are drawn out of the box to win a t-shirt. Please let your parents know about this great positive reinforcement program. Volunteers can pick up slips in the office-they're on the table next to the 'volunteer sign in book'. Kids love 'getting caught'.
"Spirit Day" is every Friday. Kids are encouraged to wear their Aztec shirt on Fridays to show their school pride. Every Friday teachers tally how many kids are wearing an Aztec shirt and submit that number to the PTO. The class that has the highest % of kids wearing Aztec shirts earns a School Spirit celebration. If your class earns the celebration, your teacher will contact you to help deliver the fun!
Each month, the class with the least amount of tardies will earn a celebration. Again, if your class earns the celebration, your teacher will contact you to help deliver the fun!
Students with perfect attendance will earn lunch with the principal and a Perfect Attendance trophy.
